California Office of digital innovation logo

The Office of Digital Innovation (ODI) was established effective July 1, 2019, in accordance with the 2019-20 budget act that was signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on June 27, 2019. 

ODI will help California state government change the way it approaches service delivery and technology investments by partnering with departments in assessing their service delivery models and underlying business processes from an end-user perspective.

Innovation Efforts

In addition to the new Office of Digital Innovation, GovOps has been working on a series of efforts that bring proven innovations to California state government through the Innovation and Accountability (I&A) team. Part of our work includes maximizing the potential of Open Data, championing Performance Improvement, exploring technology trends like Blockchain, engaging the workforce and the public through Innovation Challenges, leveraging Open Source, leading through Digital Engagement and more.
