About the Council

The Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Council (Council) is a member-driven professional council whose purpose is to advance sound governance, risk, and compliance management principles for California public entities. Members share knowledge and resources on these principles and related practices to improve operational performance and the delivery of their mission.

Serving as Council Co-Chairs are Lynn Bashaw, Vaishali Dwarka, David Gordon, Satish “Sam” Malia, and Brenda Roper. Council Advisors include John Hanafee, Anthony Martin, and Jamey Matalka. The GovOps Sponsor is Sarah Kerber.
